There are 9 reasons why your domain name transfer could be denied.

Before you initiate a transfer, go through this list and make sure none of the factors mentioned here affects the name in consideration.

  1. You can only transfer a domain name that is at least 60 days old with the current registrar.
  2. You must unlock your domain name if it’s been locked by your current registrar.
  3. You can not transfer a domain name that is already expired.
  4. You will not be able to transfer a domain that has been stopped by a court order.
  5. If there is proof of fraud, then you can not be able to transfer the name under investigation.
  6. If there is an express written objection concerning the transfer of that domain name.
  7. You can only be allowed to transfer the name if there are no bill withstanding for that domain.
  8. There should be no disputes regarding the owner/administrator of the domain name.
  9. There should be no disputes regarding the registrar of the domain name.

Domain name transfer can be an easy and quick task to do if none of these factors comes to play when you are about or in the process of transferring your domain name.
